New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hi All,
I am very new to this site. I am trying to create a picture of my husband and our two dogs and was hoping you could help answer a few questions for me:
What is the difference between the 4 color palettes mentioned?
How do you know how many threads to use?
How do you know if it should be a half stitch or a cross stitch
Are there any blending of colors?
Is there any outlining/french knots needed?
Looking to make a standard piece of paper, is 150 stitches enough?
Thanks!!
Lauren
I have a problem to get white colour in to the pattern even though the image contain white colour. Can it be fixed?
Helen,
Welcome!
Glad we could be of help!
If you're doing this as a standard single crochet pattern you'd chain 151...just think of this as a normal crochet pattern, where you'd need the one extra because you always skip one chain at the beginning, to turn so you're ready to start your first row. It really is a normal single crochet pattern, after all, just in graph form! So it follows all of the usual conventions, like the one extra turning chain.
You're so welcome!
Debbie,
Hundreds of dollars for vendors to sign up?! That's really crazy. I'd have to think this is a no-brainer, that the people organizing the show will get plenty of revenue from the sales they help generate, so how wrong it is that they're asking for so much money from designers! Designers for the most part aren't rich.
And wholesale buyers getting bargain basement prices on top of the vendors paying a fortune? That sounds wrong.

Veronica,
That's such outstanding
work and I'm very sorry to hear your husband had a stroke. Time and life are absolutely precious.
You've done a
beautiful job and wow, so fast!
If anyone should
know how to frame cross stitch, I'd think Michaels would. They
likely get a LOT of demand for things like that. And sorry the
local framers went out of business. A professional framer is like
gold!
Keep up the great work and thank you
so much for the update!
