Q. What are the pictures on the home page?

Initially they are simply photos from our internal stitching library... Except the larger image. For more information on this image, see our Credits page. Beginning in November, the images will change every month. More details will be found in our Contest section.

Q. What is the section in the upper right corner of the screen?

This is where you can log in and out of the Stitchboard Community. And if you're currently not a member, this is also where you can link to a registration page. As long as you're logged in, this corner will always tell you whether you have any messages waiting for you in the Community. If you do, simply click on the link to read them.

Q. Is there more content coming?

Yes! This is only the beginning. We can't go into details at this point but keep checking back for new developments.

Q. Your home page says "Sneak Preview". What does that mean?

Just that. We haven't had our grand opening yet. Expect things to change. New looks. New content. New functions. But feel free to use everything that's at the web site!

Q. I forgot my password. What can I do?

Click on the Login option in the bar at the top of the Community. Click on the "Forgot your Password?" link. There are two options.

1. Enter either your user name or your email address in the box. Check the "Ask me my question" and click on "Send". If you have previously saved a secret question, the computer will ask you the question. Enter your answer, as well as a new password. As long as you answer your secret question properly, the new password you give will be stored and become your new password.

2. If you didn't enter a secret question, you can still enter a new password by entering either your user name or email address and clicking the Send button. Our system will send you an email with a link. Click on the link in your email and you will be brought to a password change box where you can enter a new password.

Q. I forgot my user name. What should I do?

2 ways to solve this.

1. This tricks the system into sending your user name. Click on the Login option in the bar at the top of the Community. Click on the "Forgot your Password?" link. Enter your email address in the box and click "Send". You will receive an email from our system. It begins "Dear xxxxxxxxxx," You don't have to go any further than this. The name given after "Dear" is your user name.

2. Go back to the email we sent you when you first registered and you will find your username in there.

Q. I tried to register a user name but the system says that name is already taken. I use this name at other web sites. Can I get it at Stitchboard?

Unfortunately we are not affiliated with other web sites (except our own family of sites) so we have no control over other registration names

Q. Are my transactions secure?

Yes! We use 256-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption during the checkout process.

Q. How soon after I purchase a download can I actually make the download?

As long as the credit card transaction is approved (or if Paypal approves a purchase made through them), your download(s) can be made immediately. In this case, a link to obtain your download(s) will be included in your order confirmation email.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, Paypal, money order, and check (please allow 10 days for your check to clear before a shipment is made or before you can do a download).

Q. Is there a way of finding out when an out-of-stock item is due back in stock?

Feel free to to click on the "contact us" link to find out when it's expected back.

Q. Do you save my credit card information?

No.

Q. Are all your credit card transactions processed through Paypal?

No, only Paypal payments. Credit cards are processed directly through our corporate merchant account.

Q. What happens if I receive a damaged product?

Contact us for more information. We will exchange it.

Q. Do I pay sales tax?

Depends on a couple of things. Where you are located and what you are buying. If you purchase a download, no, there is no sales tax. Due to Illinois laws, downloads are not taxable, even to Illinois residents. If you purchase something that needs to be shipped, you will pay sales tax only if you are in the state of Illinois.

Q. Will I pay sales tax if I order an item to be shipped to me in Illinois and also purchase some downloads at the same time?

Our system is smart enough to know what's being shipped and what's being downloaded. You will only pay sales tax on the item(s) being shipped to Illinois. The download(s) will be tax-free.

Q. Why do I need to re-register at the Boutique when I am already a registered member?

Primarily for added security. The Boutique uses a secure checkout and we actually keep a separate customer database. This adds an extra level of protection. And to register at the Boutique, we only need your name, email address, and a password. When you place your first order, the system asks for more information and keeps it in a separate area. (Credit card numbers are NOT stored.) This is also why you need to separately log in to the Boutique to place an order.

Q. Why do I need to re-log in at the Boutique when I am already logged in to the Stitchboard site?
