Ducks & Geese2349 viewsThis is a very old stamped cross stitch kit.

DeGrazia4737 viewsThis is a cross stitch pattern that was based on a painting by Ted Degrazia.  It may have been called "Hanukkah," but I'm not sure of that.

Love Bearth All Things2588 viewsThis is my oldest counted cross stitch piece that I still have.  It was before I knew about making the work neat on the back, so it's very, very sloppy, with a lot of visible thread ends on the reverse side.

Eagle & Sunset4548 viewsThis was from a Dimensions pattern - that's right, a pattern, not a kit.  I purchased a special color of fabric that was recommended for it.  I love this pattern.  I did have trouble with this fabric, though.  I prefer not to use a hoop or frame (and Q-snaps weren't available at the time), and I had to use a frame to stitch this.  I fought with it a lot, though I'm happy with the end result.  You can't see, but there are tiny, tiny beads stitched on the fabric to represent stars (in addition to the stars stitched with blending filament).

Teddy Bear in Chair3869 viewsThis was supposed to be stitched for an infant's room, but I liked the colors and adore bears, so I made it for myself!

Music4485 viewsI made this for a relative...this was a kit.  She picked it out, I did the stitching.  I did change a few things...the strings on the string instruments weren't a "true" string color, so I changed those to a gray.  I think they were originally supposed to be gold.

NOEL3313 viewsForgive the bad photo of this; I can never get it lined up correctly to take a good one!  I bought this kit in Staten Island, after the unthinkable happened...I had run out of cross stitch!  Of course, it has a teddy bear, so it was instant appeal.  This was around Christmastime, and the kit was on sale...well, duh, there wasn't enough time to make this for Christmas!  That's okay...it worked just fine when it was finished by the following Christmas!  :)

Paddy's Cove3830 viewsThis was a kit called "Paddy's Cove" and I believe it's based on a greeting card.  You can't tell, but there is some lovely blending filament in the middle of the water, which makes it sparkle very nicely.

Parrots3752 viewsThis is a pretty old kit of two parrots.  I love the bold colors.

The Earthdancer4786 viewsThis is my version of Marilyn Leavitt Imblum's incredible piece, the "Earthdancer."  I took the suggestion on the pattern and used only one strand of the specialty thread for the dreamcatcher (the picture on the pattern showed it made with at least three strands, perhaps six).  This is not quite finished...one thread from the dreamcatcher became loose, so it needs to be tightened and woven under again.  The other thing I haven't finished is figuring out what color to make the two feathers under the dreamcatcher.  Because I changed fabric colors (the designer's color choice was a beigy brown I didn't like because it somewhat obscured the dancing Native American woman), the feathers then blended into the fabric color.  I tried outlining the feather on the right, but don't really like it, so will have to someday rip out the stitches and change the floss colors to something else.  LOL, am I too picky?  Probably!
