New Technique

Have just started something completely new to me - Bra making. I have drawn my pattern pieces and pinned them to the fabrics I'm using - so far so good! Will be cutting them out shortly and then the fun will start.
Wish me luck - I'm going to need it
Pam.

Now that's impressive. Let us know how it goes please.

Pam,
Wow, Charlene is right...that's
very
impressive! I've been thinking of knitting my own bras, just because I'm not great at sewing. Please do keep us informed of your progress!

Hi
Well I have put the cups together, attached lace across the top and it is going well so far. Will send a pic when I've finished it. If ever!!!
Pam.

Pam,
Can't wait to see!
It's such a smart idea to make your own...I was just recently lamenting with a friend about how bad sizes of women's clothing have become, and bras are
particularly
a problem. (LOL, thus the reason for wanting to knit one.) IMO, the best thing is something you've made for yourself, because then you can make it exactly to your liking, in just the right colors and with the perfect fit.

This is exactly the reason I decided to make my own bras. I had surgery a few years ago and consequently I have one boob larger than the other. Making my own I can change the size of the right cup to fit correctly.
By the way the first one is finished. Will take a picture maybe tomorrow.
Pam.

Pam,
Excellent!
Sizes are incredibly crazy, and I'm sorry to hear they're as bad for you across the pond as they are here. I've given up on buying clothing, so am not sure what to do next, as I haven't really sewn in many years. And some of the things I need aren't things I'd want to sew as a sort of "beginner," like jeans. I'm very afraid I'll ultimately end up wearing skirts. I don't mind wearing skirts for special occasions, but not as an everyday thing...my legs would get awfully cold, particularly in the winter!

I will be waiting to see how you fared with this Pam! Good for you for tackling such a common project we all have. Would love to hear any / all tips and tricks you learn through the process!
