New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hi Kate, and welcome!
Let me take a look at it and I'll get back to you in a bit...

Pearllex,
The artwork option actually hasn't been active for a very long time, so you probably didn't use it to create your owl pattern.
Is it possible your butterfly image is less clear than the owl? Also, if you're using the freePatternWizard to resize your image, that could be the problem. The freePatternWizard doesn't work like a graphics program, so if you use it to resize your pattern it won't get it right. In that case, I'd suggest using a graphics program to resize your image, and if you're on a PC I can suggest two very powerful (and free!) programs you can use for the purpose.
There are other possibilities, but these are the first ideas that come to mind.
Melanie,
I sure hope so
I gave 6 to my MIL, so she can try them for me, I don't wear makeup everyday, and I don't wanna put it on, just to take it off right away, so I gave her some, and then she'll hopefully leave me some feedback at some point..
Hugs
Moize,
That sounds lovely! Flowers always look good and the colors are amazing to work with! And purple...does it get any better? (LOL, not that I'm partial to purple or anything. )
Would love to see photos of your work as you go along, if you wouldn't mind sharing them here!

Krysta,
Welcome!
You're correct
- the best way to make a pattern the size you want it is to submit
your original with pixels=stitches. So if you want 120 stitches
across, you'd want to give it a 120 pixel across image.
Technically, the freePatternWizard isn't a graphics program, so it
doesn't really know what to do with too-large or too-small images
when turning them into a pattern.
