Miniature Sock - facing right4841 viewsI want to wear this as a pendant! It's so adorable...my American Girl doll was looking on in envy, but thank goodness, it wouldn't fit her, anyway! ;DMar 08, 2011

Kitty Fur!3093 viewsYes, that's right...the kitty had a hand in this, too! Really, I'm a nut...I save cat hair! I saw this piece of fluff on the one sock and had to put it in with the fur I'm saving from my own special darling. (No, I didn't let her sniff it...that would have been asking for trouble!)Mar 08, 2011

Tiny sweater, attempt 1, 000 (3/0) knitting needles6141 viewsThis was the first (failed) attempt at making the tiny sweater. Notice how loose the knitting is.Apr 09, 2010

Tiny sweater, attempt 2, doll sewing needles used as knitting needles4496 viewsThis was the second attempt at making the tiny sweater. I used the doll sewing needles and was happier with the tightness of the knitting.Apr 09, 2010

The Earthdancer4809 viewsThis is my version of Marilyn Leavitt Imblum's incredible piece, the "Earthdancer." I took the suggestion on the pattern and used only one strand of the specialty thread for the dreamcatcher (the picture on the pattern showed it made with at least three strands, perhaps six). This is not quite finished...one thread from the dreamcatcher became loose, so it needs to be tightened and woven under again. The other thing I haven't finished is figuring out what color to make the two feathers under the dreamcatcher. Because I changed fabric colors (the designer's color choice was a beigy brown I didn't like because it somewhat obscured the dancing Native American woman), the feathers then blended into the fabric color. I tried outlining the feather on the right, but don't really like it, so will have to someday rip out the stitches and change the floss colors to something else. LOL, am I too picky? Probably!Feb 16, 2010

Paddy's Cove3851 viewsThis was a kit called "Paddy's Cove" and I believe it's based on a greeting card. You can't tell, but there is some lovely blending filament in the middle of the water, which makes it sparkle very nicely.Feb 16, 2010

Music4506 viewsI made this for a relative...this was a kit. She picked it out, I did the stitching. I did change a few things...the strings on the string instruments weren't a "true" string color, so I changed those to a gray. I think they were originally supposed to be gold.Feb 16, 2010

NOEL3336 viewsForgive the bad photo of this; I can never get it lined up correctly to take a good one! I bought this kit in Staten Island, after the unthinkable happened...I had run out of cross stitch! Of course, it has a teddy bear, so it was instant appeal. This was around Christmastime, and the kit was on sale...well, duh, there wasn't enough time to make this for Christmas! That's okay...it worked just fine when it was finished by the following Christmas! :)Feb 16, 2010

Teddy Bear in Chair3891 viewsThis was supposed to be stitched for an infant's room, but I liked the colors and adore bears, so I made it for myself!Feb 16, 2010

Eagle & Sunset4610 viewsThis was from a Dimensions pattern - that's right, a pattern, not a kit. I purchased a special color of fabric that was recommended for it. I love this pattern. I did have trouble with this fabric, though. I prefer not to use a hoop or frame (and Q-snaps weren't available at the time), and I had to use a frame to stitch this. I fought with it a lot, though I'm happy with the end result. You can't see, but there are tiny, tiny beads stitched on the fabric to represent stars (in addition to the stars stitched with blending filament).Feb 16, 2010
