Fresh off the needles and seamed5166 viewsThis is placed over the back of the office chair I use at my knitting machine.  This is how big they are before the washing machine.

What I did and didn't have3757 viewsI was trying to use up the ends of old skeins and didn't have enough of any of these three to make a hat so combined them.  This one worked out!

A very nice plumb5615 viewsNice deep purple color requested by a friend.  I made two, one for her and one for sale.

The last of my favorite color, different shape4747 viewsThis yarn was a gift from a friend who brought it from New Zealand over 30 years ago.  This hat was shaped over a coffee can, just for variety. ;-)

OKAY, this went horribly wrong2857 viewsI try hard to keep my wool and acrylic yarns separate.  This nice dark chocolate brown yarn somehow made it into my wool stash.  On a human head, it looks a whole lot like Gilligans' hat....remember Gilligan?  *sigh*....my fevered little brain is now working to improvise a solution.
Stand by!

Those styrofoam thingys are useful but....5225 viewsThey are NOT attractive.  I spent some time yesterday cutting strips of old fabric and gluing them to the head form with white glue.  So far so good.  I intend to give it a couple of coats of spray polyeurethane and call it good.
I'm rather pleased with the improvement.

Once again not enough of either one4691 viewsBelieve it or not, this is two shade of Navy Blue.  Shows ta go ya that navy is in the mind of the beholder.  The striping isn't nearly so pronounced in real time.  Cameras are very odd toys no?

Another "what happened" moment3606 viewsOkay, what was in my head isn't what came off the knitting bed.  I've been working on improv for this one as well and found buttons shaped like sunflowers, (in Kansas yet!) and will be sewing them on.  Not exactly my cup of tea, but if all else fails, I can turn it into a teapot cosy.....hmmm, there's an idea.
