My cats

1260410042260 carriage 003.jpg

These are the two who remain. Once upon a time, several years ago, we had six of them, Sally, Dominican, Tigger, Giuseppe, Prince, and Mikey. These are the two we have left.

Nearly invisible seam

1261023058nearly invisible seams 001.jpg

I know that someone more professional than I could do a better job. That said, when carefully done, the seams really do recede into the garment and don't show very much.

I ALWAYS begin on the inside because it's easier to loop through the larger stitches and skip the knotted ones that form every other row, and then go up the public side.

This is the seaming technique I use on the hats. It might be over kill to do both sides of the work, but if I do the inside first it holds everything in place while I do the outside.

The inside seam is pulled loosely taut if that makes sense and the outside seam is pulled taught. It often happens that it's necessary to pull east and west and then north and south to smooth things out to their best.

Anyway, I hope this helps someone.

Charlene

Catsnhats, on to the hats and what went horribly wrong.....

1265473015catsnhats 018.jpg

Latest batch of hats,  I was so pleased while I was making the pink one, completely unaware that the brown yarn that was in my wool stash was a pretender.  It's acrylic.  I'm sitting back contemplating the solution to this.

James R's sweater and the purple shrug

1270244576james royce\'s sweater 001.jpg

Finished the nephew's sweater.  Didn't remember to take a closeup of the flaws.  His father, (my brother) was wowed and requested that I make him a cardigan when I make the one for my Papa.  Both of them want black.  Jim will have cables and I haven't completely decided what to do on Papa's

back of the hat4064 viewsthis is where the acrylic i-cord comes out of either side.  I had to make it long enough to get from one side to the other before the hat was felted.  Ergo, it's really long when the hat felts.
