My next door has saw the blanket i did for a friend of mine and she has asked if i could knit another one but in pin as one of her niece is due to have baby girl in october.
Cheryl,
LOL! If you can knit it, that's the key. Just start with how you cast on, and the different steps to get it done. I love the look of this one because it's so simple, yet elegant.

yeah I have send a nice brown fur one in the shop which i might use as my dog is colourd fox red lab, i am also thinking about doing nice big one for my friend as she has 3 cats.

Cheryl,
You could put it in our mall. We don't get a lot of activity yet, but we plan to open up some new things, which should bring us a lot more traffic.

Cheryl,
That sounds like an excellent plan! Definitely can't blame him if he wants both. Your work is so beautiful! And I think you should sell your pattern someday...I bet other people would love to make it!
Melanie (cat slave and Official Feline Can Opener) =^.^=
thank you, and i have been thinking bout selling the pattern, but just want to double check to make sure that there isnt a pattern already out there.
Cheryl
Cheryl,
That's a very smart idea...you can't go wrong if you know there's nothing else like it!
I can't recall seeing anything like that, but I also don't get out a lot.

Cheryl,
That turned out perfectly! Love it in the pink, too. So how long does something like that take you to make?
Melanie (cat slave and Official Feline Can Opener) =^.^=
Well.. it took me over 2 weeks to finish it but i was on and off it, but if i did it every night then i think it would took me just over week. i did the same one in blue which i think i have posted it on here, that took me bout 2 weeks as that was bit bigger than this one. but i love it, i am actually thinking about doing one for my dog as he loves the feel of it, he always lays on it whenever i put it down, bless him lol.
thank you for your comments
Cheryl
Cheryl,
Ouch! That really is a nightmare!
Sigh, I've also learned the hard way about the importance of counting stitches early on and frequently thereafter....have ended up with unwanted and unsightly holes in the work. Some of my projects have been knitted, re-knitted and re-knitted again...several times!
Glad you were able to get the stitches back on the needle. Have you ever used (I think it's called this) a lifeline? I did that several years ago with a short row project. Kept losing my spot in the pattern, so I kept progressively running lifelines thorugh the rows until the project was almost done. It really helped that I didn't have to start the entire thing over when there was a mistake, just had to rip down to the lifeline, and it went back on the needles like a dream!!

No i havent heard of lifelines. my mam has asked me if i could do one of those blankets for my brother who has autuism, but she wants it really small so that he can take to school with him, i did a crochet blanket, and i think i have uploaded it on here not sure, i will check, and mam said that he loves it and he tired to take it to school with him, but i dont know whether i should do him another crocher one or fur one. what you think?
Cheryl
Cheryl,
Thank you for sharing your lovely work!
I don't know that I could work something up that fast...I greatly admire how you can do that.
LOL, great minds think alike...I was thinking of making one of those furry blankets for my cat. She loves nice soft blankets.

Cheryl,
Thanks for the info! LOL, now I have to get some of that. It looks like a lot of fun to work with!

Cheryl,
Oh, yes, that's a nice blanket, too!
One thing I do know about autism is that people with it have a hard time with certain textures. If he likes the crocheted blanket, that may be a better one to make if you think the fur wouldn't go over well. I'm remembering a friend's son, who went absolutely nuts over a grape, because he didn't like the texture and it weirded him out. It may not be as bad for your brother with the fur, but if you're thinking of doing that one, maybe you could try showing him a fur blanket and seeing if he doesn't mind the texture? Anyway, the crocheted one is lovely, too, so you could go either way. He may actually like the colors of that one and prefer that over the fur, which is more plain.

Cheryl,
P.S. I forgot to explain about the lifeline. It's just a thread or something you put through the loops in a certain row, and if you find you've made a mistake, all you have to do is rip back to there, put the row back on your needles and then you can continue.
Melanie (cat slave and Official Feline Can Opener) =^.^=
and its nightmare lol, gottta be careful not to slip a stitch coz it hard to slip it back on the needle. i have done it few times but have managed to slip it back on. When i did the blue one, i was half way through when i realize that i have massive hole, so i had to pull it out upto where the hole was and it was nightmare to get all the stitches back on needle, i would say that it took me almost half hour to get it all back on.
