I'm so glad I'm not the only one! That's the thing...if I could see where the stitches were going with mattress stitch, it wouldn't be so bad...but I can't. At least with this method, it's obviously easier to see and it looks mighty good when it's finished.

I think it looks very professional. I don't dislike mattress stitch...I just have a lot of trouble with it, because it's not terribly clear where I'm stitching. This is nice and easy to see.
I don't know wat it's called, but I find this easiest and gives me the cleanest seam. This seems much easier to me than the other methods I've tried to learn from videos and instructions on the net.

You've definitely helped! I was so dreading trying mattress stitch, especially on a variegated yarn where I can't see the darned stitches. I think this is going to make the seaming *far* easier.
