We might worry a little more about our kitty's hydration if she didn't have a problem with the litter box.  She won't use it for "number 1".  She makes puddles in one corner of the kitchen. I've taken to placing small white 'utility'-type towels in that corner.  She uses them, then scrapes them into a pile like she would with litter. When there's enough for a small load, I put them in the washer with bleach. Sometimes I add a small amount of detergent.

What a great pic...it's so sweet...they LOVE drinking out of the faucet...ours loves the bathtub faucet.  (She'll lick off the bottom of the tub, too...hee hee, almost no need to wash the tub!  But now we can't install one of those shower cleaning chemical sprays, for obvious reasons.)
We try to leave a small stream of cold water running in the bathtub for her.  At least she's getting hydrated!  We're talking about buying a small fountain, the type made for cats, to entice them to drink water.  I told my friend about that, because her cat had health problems from not drinking enough, so she bought him a fountain.
