Charlene,
You've had other things on your mind, so please don't feel bad.   I'm glad you like the socks.  Smile

Marilyn,

ROFL...I love the story about your niece and the angel eyes! Smile

Ooh, the colorwork/fair isle idea sounds fantastic! I can't wait to see what you do with that when you get the chance. Smile

LOL, personally, though the one set of hands limit can be vexing, I guess when it comes right down to it, I wouldn't want another set. Well, maybe a clone would do the trick. ;D

Hugs,
Melanie (known to the cat as "Rowr" or "Rowr Rowr") =^.^=

Melanie,
I appreciate your kind words.  Smile
I think I forgot to tell you the story about the pink & purple socks.  My niece put them on and studied the angels on the toes. Then she looked up at her mom and said, "They don't have any eyes."  My sister said it wasn't easy trying to use a Sharpie to draw little bitty eyes on knitting.  Smile
I've got an idea or two in mind for using 2 colors for socks, more along the lines of colorwork/fair isle.  But one can only do so much at once, due to only having one set of hands.   Wink

Marilyn,
Thank you so much for posting these!  They're DIVINE!  Oh, and I LOVE the design on the toes, too...that's gorgeous!  I like the pink and purple combo (two of my favorite colors) and I think the two different colors for the yellow socks is a fantastic idea.  I agree that's the best thing to do when you don't have a use for another ball of yarn...use a different color for parts of the sock...I would do the same!
That brings up an interesting point...why is it that socks are usually either made of self-striping yarns or are only one color?  I haven't seen very many socks with two different colors like this, and really, I like it!  It's so innovative...I like the way the heel stands out on the yellow socks...the toes on the purple & pink.
EXCELLENT job!  Smile
Hugs,
Melanie  (known to the cat as "Rowr" or "Rowr Rowr") =^.^=

There was a couple of reasons for using only 1 ball of yarn.  #1. Money was a little tight, but I wanted to make something.  #2. If I'd had the money for the 2nd ball, I had no idea what I'd do with an almost full ball of leftover yellow yarn.
With way this kid is growing, I might not be able to get by with 1 ball of yarn for much longer.  Smile
