The brown hat is simply color changes on every row in the hat band area. The experimental hat was a white hat band and then I hung the hat front ways and with weights on the bottom to stretch it back out I embroidered with red yarn. The bars between each "snow flake" (bettcha you didn't know they were snow flakes did you) are cross stitched.

I appreciate the feed back very much.

Thank you
Charlene

Oh, wait...I see...it's embroidery. Wow, I don't know how you do that, but I *love* the ruffled effect.

These are absolutely *beautiful*! I'd love to know how you accomplished the brown, green, red and gold one, with those amazing stripes. Is there some kind of special stitch which gives it the "ruffled" look?

Six of the seven hats I made. I forgot to photograph the last one, but that one needs a bit of work too. For some reason that one came out with a flat top. I'm going to experiment with that one.
