Hello everyone!

Hi,

My name is Carol. I have been an avid crafter all my life. At one time I made 90% of all my clothing. That has significantly dwindled these days, but I still love sewing. At one time I thought I wanted to be a professional seamstress, but finicky clients fixed that. I love detail work (I've been a bookkeeper all my adult life and love it).
I have tried crochet, done tons of cross stitch, various paper crafts (including making paper) and wood, to name a few. I taught myself how to bead just before I graduated from college in 2000 and then taught for 5 years before moving to Canada. I have dabbled in bead making and art clay silver, but my true passion lies in woven bead work. I have a website, but have not updated it for a while.  www.CraftedbyCarol.com

I look forward to conversing with fellow crafters!

Carol,

Welcome!  How amazing to have made 90% of your clothing in the past!  What a dream, to have clothes tailored precisely for yourself.  I always have so much trouble finding clothes that fit and wish I could make most of mine.

It's hard to make things for other people for pay...they always find something wrong, something to tweak, something you should have done differently, groan.  I don't blame you for not wanting to go that direction!

Woven beadwork is my favorite, too.  LOL, okay, one of my favorites, because I still love knitting and crochet.  That said, IMO there's something so tactile about working with beads.

Where in Canada are you?  I haven't been there in years, but I loved it.  The people were so friendly, and there's much beauty to be seen.  Smiley  If it didn't get so cold, I'd think about living there!

Hi ladies,
I'm Judy aka sdbdr. I've been beading for about 13 years now,
and yes! Beadweaving is my favorite. Used to sew most all my
clothes, too, but I'd rather bead. What are you working on?
Glad to see beaders here.

Judy,

Welcome!

Wow, even though you don't do it now, I think it's fantastic that you used to make your own clothes!  Smiley

Beadweaving is so addictive, isn't it?

I've started another amulet purse (RAW this time)...what are you working on, and do you have any pictures?
