Sherry,
Honestly, I ALWAYS have trouble pricing anything.
I hate to charge an amount that someone would consider "too much"...but I also don't want to feel like I got cheated! Pricing is THE most difficult thing to do.
Long before I knew anything about selling handmade items (this was my first experience with selling handmade EVER), I agreed to make some ribbon roses for someone. It took sooooo long and I didn't make all that much. But it wasn't the guy's fault...he paid me what we'd agreed on. It was just that I didn't want to overcharge him and ended up way undercharging.
If you don't want to use a formula, as I said in another post, perhaps looking around at similar things that other people have made will give you a ballpark idea of what to charge.
You're NOT in it alone!

it really depends on the item. It also depends on the value of your materials and time. Do you care if you made $5 an hour or are you shooting for atleast $10? when i used to make jewelry sets and sell them i never charged less than 20 for a beaded necklace and pair of earrings. I could also finish that in an hour so It didn't mess me up too much. Having some lower price items in the mix is always a good idea. I will purchace quicker if I have a choice on pricing. If the first few items i pick up are $100 Im walking out before looking any further. Thats just me but ive found it true when selling as well.

Candice,
Welcome!
Thanks for such fantastic advice!
Pricing is such a bear...nobody wants to overprice or underprice. And I like the idea of having lower priced items so people will have a choice.

I am not to picky on hourly rate honestly, I have looked at similar items and there is a brooch I made that took me about 3 hours total, online it sold for $125 (same brand beads crystal)
I am doing portrait jewelry or lighter covers/pen wraps, lighter cover took 4 hours and a 5*7 photograph took 9 hours and they both used 40 different colors delica. I will figure it out,no know as long as I get money I spent back I am ok for now, but eventually I want to make a profit, lol!

Sherry,
Of course you want to make a profit!
And making a profit doing what you love is always best!
