Messageboard weirdness
October 24, 2024 at 5:30:43 AM
I posted a message yesterday about a website for choosing Delica beads, but after hitting "Post Message" the message appeared in the list of messages with no title. Perhaps I forgot to add one when writing the message, but the problem is there is no title for me to click on, so I can't see my message or any of the replies!

Aha! No such problem with that post. I wonder if someone who can see my first message would click on it and post the URL for it here. Perhaps that will work?

I saw your message yesterday and am not sure what happened. It should technically not have posted without a subject.
Also, oddly, I was able to click on it yesterday but not today, which is odd, because we haven't edited, deleted or done anything to it. I've notified Terry (Support) to see if he can figure out what's going on.
Once we find out what happened to it, and hopefully get it to work again, do you want me to see if I can edit it to include a title, and if so, what title do you want?

Thanks. I noticed there were 8 replies so I am keen to see what people were saying, although it could only have been "Don't post messages without a title" :-)
The title shoud be "Prototype Delica 11° Bead Finder/Colour Matcher".
Thanks

And, it should be posted in the appropriate section! I hadn't noticed I'd put it in the Showcase section. Although, I am not sure I can see which section it should go in. Bead Tech? The only post there is from 2009 though. I am such a noob, sorry.

No worries, you're fine!
Bead Tech would be decent! The showcase is specifically for questions about the showcase area. It doesn't matter when the latest post was; yours will simply jump to the top of that area, being the newest. So my suggestion would be to post somewhere in beading. If you do, I would also suggest posting it without your email address. I understand why you want to get replies, but the problem is posting it will put you on spam lists, and once you get on those, there's no way out.
I see 0 replies, not 8? But I show 14 views, which I could swear was only 12 yesterday. So perhaps some are able to click on it. I can't anymore.
If you'd like to repost in the beading area, then once we find out if your original message can be resurrected, would you like us to delete it?

Thanks for looking into this.
The original post won't be too difficult to re-write, so let's leave it there.

Sure, that's fine! I'm really sorry this has happened with your message. It's so very unusual!
Is it all right if I remove your email address from the post, so you don't get spammed?
And oddly, there are two more views today! Yesterday was 14, today it's up to 16...very strange!

Good news! It looks like editing and adding a subject line is (so far) making the message accessible. Still no idea why this happened (and we may not know), but now it's visible again.
Thank you so much for your patience.
