Blanets for twins

Mulling things over in my mind. I'm beginning the project today. Since we don't know the gender of the twins, the colors are green and yellow. Pictures to follow.

Great color choices! I know one can technically use pink and blue together when the gender is unknown, but I suspect we both feel the same about it...green and yellow are definitely "safe," as is white, the latter which I never would use for babies, because it shows dirt so easily. I end up using mint green (called "soft green") from the Caron "Simply Soft" line for all things baby. I find it's a soothing color to work with, the yarn is almost hypnotically soft, and it makes the project very, very enjoyable.

I agree. Simply Soft is a wonderful yarn to use for babies. I use that and "I Love This Yarn". Both these yarns are as soft as one could wish for babies and adults alike.

Good point: we adults like our soft yarns, too! (Do you also go around in yarn shops feeling all of the fibers?)

I haven't seen "I Love This Yarn," but is it correct that this is a Hobby Lobby item? I don't have a HL nearby, so I wouldn't have the chance to check it out. Luckily, all of the stores in this area do sell Simply Soft. And the Simply Soft is a far cry from the scratchy yarns we used to have to use years ago (because there weren't any other choices), isn't it?!

I remember back then, when I had to use a rough acrylic to make a baby bunting. What I would have given for some Simply Soft!

Good sale on Simply Soft. I'm contemplating this. I'm also watching Caron Simply Soft mill end bargains on Ebay. The twins baby blankets are giving me fits. I did a short row technique to make blankets but dadgum, between the tweed I Love This Yarn and the plain color, the squares turned out vastly different sizes.

Back to the drawing board!

Thanks for the link...that's an excellent sale!

Sorry to hear you're having trouble with the blankets. The short row techniques are a lot of fun, but a BEAR when they don't work out. I once made up a coaster pattern with short row techniques, and it turned out so wonky, I tore it out and chose a different one!
