New Optional Assembly Page for .pdf Patterns

Version 3.9.0 of the freePatternWizard adds a new feature for those creating .pdf patterns.  With larger multipage patterns, you now have the option to turn on a new "Assembly Page".  This page shows your image in the background, a grid showing how each pattern page fits together, and pattern page numbers in the center of each grid box.

First, the settings for this feature are changeable through the "Preferences" tab on the left side of the PatternWizard page.  By clicking this tab it will open up a window that, among others, offers a new "Assembly Page".  These options are shown below:

The top 3 options allow you to disable the "Assembly Page" (default), have it always on (will show the new "Assembly Page" if your pattern is more than one page), or only show the extra page if your pattern is at least 6 pages.

The middle 2 options in this Preferences tab relate to what will show as the background image on the new "Assembly Page".  If set to "Original Image", the page will show your original image with no stitch marks as a background.  If set to "Image with Grid", your image will include "stitch" marks (basically like graph paper over your image).

The bottom 2 options allow you to tell the program that either you always want the last "Assembly Page" to always be in portrait mode (shrunk if necessary to fit right-side up), or you allow it to turn the last page sideways to maximize the size of the image.  When set to "Always show portrait", it will always print the "Assembly Page" vertically, regardless of whether your image is portrait or landscape.  When set to "Allow landscape", it will turn the page sideways if your image is landscape.  See 2 examples below:

"Always show portrait" "Allow landscape"

These "Assembly Pages" were originally needed when the freePatternWizard was "branched off" into several additional commercial uses beyond the crafting area.  The page was invaluable for some projects containing patterns with as many as 351 pages and over 758,000 crochet stitches!
