Hi,

In section 7 do you have Output set to "Pattern in Pdf Format"?

Do you see your pattern on the screen if you set Output to "Pattern on Screen"?

If you cannot get it to generate a pattern on the screen then there may be another issue.  In this case it should be showing a red error message with more information.
