I may have found a bug in the Pattern Wizard

Noticed that you are doing an updated on the pattern wizard, and asked if anyone noticed any bugs. Well, I think I found one. When asking for a 35 colour palette (beading) I got a 171 colour palette. I tried it three times just in case it was me, but I got the same results all three times. I'd love to use that many colours in my design but I'm afraid that I just can't afford to purchase that may colours, not with the price of beads now a days. Hope this is an easy fix for you.

Hi and thanks for the info!

Yes, I'm a week into the entire site update, preparing for server upgrades for a new Stitchboard area.

I'm actually surprised I haven't caused more problems than have shown up so far.  I did update the PatternWizard about 3 days ago and at that time noticed a problem in color counts like you describe.

I hope to complete the site update later tonight (about a week ahead of scheduleSmile) and will correct this problem with the Wizard after that.

I'll post here again when it's fixed.

Thanks for the feedback!

Terry

Howdy.

Ok, I took a bit of time just now and looked into the problem.

It was actually an easy fix.

I looked back into my records and this problem was caused by a change I made on July 20 of 2012!  It's amazing that this wasn't reported sooner!

Anyway, it seems to work now.  Without specifying the number of colors, I got a 20 or 30-color pattern, depending on whether it was beading or cross stitch.  I then told it to do a 5-color cross stitch and beading pattern, both with colors and shades of grays and all is well.  I also checked the black and white and manual color choosing modes too.

Thanks again for letting me know about this and have fun!

Terry

Hey Terry
You're awesome. Totally worked this time. I'm really impressed that you had an easy and very fast fix. Can't believe nobody noticed this problem earlier either.
Great job! Great fix!
Thanks
