We've had a request for custom palettes/saving palettes for the Free Pattern Wizard.  We think this is a super idea and wonder if this is something that sounds useful, but we'd like to hear from others out there if this is something you'd like.  Smiley

Would it be helpful to be able to create at least one palette to use over and over again?  More than one?  Would saving be better than picking out the same colors every time?

Hi.  Would just like some input.

I'm wondering if users would like to save their custom palette(s).  And if so, how many palettes would you like to store?

Also, if we save your palette(s), would you prefer clicking on a new option in section 5b that would be someting like "Use my predefined palette" (or "Use one of my predefined palettes)?

And if you want to click on this, would you like it to bring up the entire manufacturer's palette, automatically checking the checkboxes for the colors in your palette, or would you rather have it bring up only your colors?  (The advantage of bringing up the entire manufacturer's palette with yours checked is that you could then override your settings by checking additional ones or unchecking existing ones.)

Any other suggestions or desires relating to palettes?

Thanks for the input.

Terry

Could there be one palette made up of a personal bead inventory? Then have the ability to add or subtract beads from your own personal inventory?
There would be an additional option to use your own inventory instead of the delica choices.

Thank you for considering this,
Sara

Yes, this is not only possible, but something that is planned for another use (to be announced at a later time).  I was going to have a separate program/screen that dealt with someone's inventory that linked with the PatternWizard, but now you have me thinking about placing the inventory functions into the PatternWizard program.

Then what you'd like to see would be to somehow enter/edit your inventory, and in the PatternWizard, click on something (probably in section 5) that would bring up a full manufacturer palette with your inventory colors checked.  You could then check others to add more, and/or uncheck existing ones to not have it work with certain ones.

No thanks needed!  Thank you for your input!  We're looking for as much input as we can get. We have some really neat features planned.  One in particular will give the PatternWizard a feature not found anywhere else on the web.  (More about this at a later time).

So in the meantime, let us know as you think of other features you'd like to see.

I can tell you that one of my additions will be to add a retouch/manual feature so you'll be able to color in or remove single stitches/beads, paint, or other whatever you want to clean up your pattern.

As I'm always looking for beta testers, please let me know if you would like to be a "tester" for some new features (like the inventory feature).

Thanks again.

Terry

I would love to see entire manufacture pallettes if that is a possibility since I work almost exclusively with Red Heart yarns. I'm sure there are others who have faves as well.

That can certainly be done.  We did that with Lion Brand Wool Ease.

This palette feature will definitely be in an upcoming version.  Not sure when the next update will be but I pretty much stop everything else and do a small fix when someone reports a bug.

We're taking all the input we can get now and want to consider everyone's suggestions.

I'm guessing a new version will be released in September or October, but don't quote me on that.  I still have a huge list of new features and changes to do at the site.

I agree that might be helpful, since there are colors that I do use over and over again.

Janice,

Custom palettes are definitely coming.

And at some point, we need to update the existing ones to add new colors.  We thought of dropping discontinued ones but then what about people with large stashes? Smile

Thanks again for the input.
