Crochet Q

Alright, I'm fairly new to crocheting. I took a image, plugged it into the pattern maker. My question is, every other row, do I work my stitches listed backwards what they're listed or does the wizard create the pattern taking into account the turning each row?

Welcome!  Smile

If I'm understanding your question, you're working from a word pattern and not a chart, correct?

The freePatternWizard presents the rows right to left and then left to right for each alternate row.  The turning chain is implied, as that's not technically part of the graph on which the words are based.

If you're having problems, I suggest starting with something small.  Nothing says you have to start with a huge chart!  I did this when I wanted to make crocheted beaded bangle bracelets.  I had visions of all of the beautiful bracelets I'd create, but working with beads in addition to crochet was challenging.  I went to large pony beads and made some practice pieces so I could get used to holding the both the beads and the thread.

In this case, I suggest a small, simple pattern, two or three colors, small enough to perhaps be a pillow or even smaller, for a pincushion.  If you practice smaller, you'll find it's a lot easier to apply to something larger.  It can be daunting to start with a huge pattern.  This is especially true of when you're first starting out in crochet, where I would definitely not recommend starting with a large image for something as big as a graphghan.

I'm a beading, knitting and crochet addict.  If that means I'm admitting I have a problem, then I admit to nothing. Please refrain from helping me.
