Sabrina,

I'll let Support (Terry) know about your question, but my guess is his answer will be that the number of pages is a function of the size of your pattern.  We've had requests in the past for patterns to be printed on fewer pages, but the problem is then the patterns may be unreadable.  And you probably don't want that!

Unfortunately, there really is a reason why the patterns are split into a lot of pages, so they're readable and usable.

I'm sorry I don't have a better answer for you.  While I don't think there is one, I do hope a solution can be found!

Hi.  If I shrunk it down to fit on only a couple pages, it'd be too small to read.  I tested a version that did this and it was impossible to work with so I set it back to the way it is now.

It's kind of like saying we could put a 50-page book onto 2 pages, but things would be so small, you'd need a microscope to read it.

If changing to a larger paper size and allowing more stitches across might help, that's something that can be done.  Right now the upper limit is 300 stitches across if we set that up for you.  Let us know if that might help.  I've done that for several members.  But even with 300 stitches across, it wouldn't bring a large pattern down to a couple pages.

I too am having a problem on getting my st count to be as many as I want for my pattern.

 

I want my pattern to be 150 wide and 180 long

Right now I am getting the 150 wide, but then I get 236 long (or tall)

and the tall is more than I am wanting it to be. Can you tell me what I have

to enter to get just the 180 tall?

Hi, and welcome!

The best thing you can do to get the length you want is to experiment with adding borders on the sides of your image before uploading it.  What the freePatternWizard does with images is to adjust the height so the image doesn't distort.  This is great for keeping your image in the correct aspect ratio, but as you've discovered, it also causes the height to be longer than you'd desire.

It will take some experimenting to add different sized borders to the sides of your image, but this is the best way without getting image distortion.
