miyuki round bead availability
February 7, 2013 at 1:37:44 AM
Hello
I have created a few patterns using this software. I have been running into problems trying to finf beads as directed by the pattern list.
I ended up contacting Miyuki Bead Co in Japan directly who told me that although round beads are on a delica conversion list, there are round beads on that list that they have never created, thus making them unavilable. The bead I was pecificaly looking for was Metallic Earth Batik,#1966, conversion of DB1010, This bead was never made in round. Yet, the pattern listed it to bre used. I did use a substitute for this one bead, however, in the new pattern I just created, I have a whole slew of beads that I cannot find any where in round. I do not want to use delica. Is there a way that the pattern can list only available round beads?
I want to thank you for allowing me the use of this software. I really like it. I guess I need some direction on how to keep the essence of the pattern intact. These new beads are "s/l Glazed....(honey, saffron, etc)" I have no idea how to substitute for a glazed bead as I don't know what this finish is and cannot seem to find a definition. (reddish??)
Please help.
Thank you again
Faith

Faith,
Am I correct that you're using a Delica list the Free Pattern Wizard created for you, then converting those numbers over to seed beads?
If so...we do have a palette of seed beads...where it says "Miyuki - Delica," you can choose "Miyuki - Seed" instead.
If I've misunderstood, and the Free Pattern Wizard is giving bead numbers that are not valid (because Miyuki doesn't make them), please let me know and we'll look into it.
Thanks!

Faith,
Thank you for the info. It sounds like we'll have to contact Miyuki and find out what's what.
