Written knitting pattern and other ???
April 17, 2016 at 5:48:05 PM
Hello, I just signed up today and I'm having fun with the program. A few questions, is there an option to get a written pattern for knitting? I only see that option coming up with crocheting.
Also, it seems that when the program crops from about 180 stitches to 150 it also crops off some of the colors, is there a way to fix that, other than buying the premiere edition. I don't mind paying, and I don't mind my pattern being 150 stitches, but I don't like that it changes the image when it does crop it.
Thank you!!

Peggy,
Welcome!
Glad you're enjoying using the program.
At this time there aren't written patterns available for knitting, but those are definitely in our plans! The only exception for knitting at this time is Illusion Knitting, which offers both charted and written patterns.
Using the freePatternWizard to crop your image is definitely not recommended. The reason is because the freePatternWizard isn't a graphics program, so the results are likely to be unacceptable.
What you're best off doing is using a graphics program to crop your images. If you don't have one, there are two that are free and very powerful:
Gimp, available here:
http://gimp.org/
Paint.net, available here:
http://getpaint.net/
I can't advise you on how to use either of these programs, as I use an ancient version of Paint Shop Pro.

I'm using Paint also, maybe that's my problem, LOL! I will try one of these programs and see if that helps my issue. I'll be looking for the written knitting patterns (I just prefer knitting to crocheting
I may also just buy the package for the year and that would fix my issues for size also.

Peggy,
Hope you've been able to successfully crop your image!
Although I don't personally use them, the programs I mentioned are very impressive with all of the options they offer...I really should try them, too, but am very comfortable using that ancient program, sigh. Anyway, best of all, you can't beat the price for either one!
Feel free to take advantage of our introductory prices...we want to keep them low so they're affordable; we love the idea that they can help you do what you're trying to accomplish!
