Two amulet bags, one necklace and a beaded box

I have several projects started.  Here are a few of them:
Two of the project "The Gilded Cage" from "Creative Bead Weaving" by Carol Wilcox Wells.  Why two?  I started by using S/L gold Delicas, then decided to make one in an iridescent purple, which looks almost black.  This project uses at least two stitches, peyote (tubular) and netting.  (See the attached picture, which shows both pieces on the same tube.)

"Rainbow Necklace" from "The Art and Elegance of Beadweaving" by Carol Wilcox Wells.  I substituted clear AB 11/0 seed beads for the Delicas.  This is a herringbone stitch project, using three sizes of seed beads: 6/0, 8/0 and the 11/0 Delicas, for which I substituted the seed beads.  I'm using blue AB beads for the 6/0s, lined purple AB beads and gilt-lined translucent white beads for the 8/0s, plus the clear AB 11/0 seed beads.  (See the attached pic, called "herringbone necklace.")

I'm also making a tiny hexagonal "practice box" from Julia Pretl's Little Bead Boxes, using light pink AB Delicas.  (See beaded box pics.)

As you can see, I was able to put the pictures in this post; however, the iridescent beads don't look iridescent at all in any of them.

Love the kitty!

I have Julia's book of beaded boxes and I've been afraid to start one.  I'm not sure if I understand the instructions.  I like your idea of a practice box though.  Wish I had thought of that!  I'll have to dig through my delicas and see what I have to work with.

And I LOVE amulet bags!  Can't wait to see yours when they're done!

I have a spiral in the works along with some herringbone ropes for a project out of a B&B magazine.  I also have an ornament cover started that I may not have enough beads to finish!  And I have lots of projects I want to kit up and do, but haven't gotten around to it.  I am also a crocheter and stitcher and have been doing both of those mostly here lately.  There just aren't enough hours in the day!  :-)

If you make the boxes small enough (but not so small as to make them unwieldy), you can try out the instructions with a minimum of time commitment.  It looks so incredibly scary, doesn't it?!  Once you start working with the instructions, though, it's not hard at all.  The diagrams and words work well together to help explain what to do.  LOL, and then you have to choose which shape and which lid to make!

Thank you kindly!  These are taking a while, because each one needs a large number of rows...I forget how many...somewhere between 50 and 100.  Plus, I've misplaced my book!  Sad  So when I find the book, I can finally finish the bags.

Ooh, which one?

ACK!  What are you going to do if you don't have enough beads?  Can you find something in a similar shade, or will you have to frog it?

There sure aren't!  Someone I used to know once said she needed a wife to take care of the tedious things so she could do what she wanted.  ;-)
