Mandy,

Welcome!  Smile

My first suggestion is that if you want to try a graphghan, to start a bit smaller, perhaps with a pillow or even a square, in a small number of colors.  I know that I often drool over so many beautiful designs, but if I don't try a smaller project first, I can get very frustrated (LOL, and especially when I make the mistake of thinking I'll pick something up easily, such as bead crochet...yeah, right, that didn't work out too well!).  If you start small, you can figure out what might be challenging or require an extra step you hadn't anticipated.  (Again, with my bead crochet learning...instead of going right to making those beautiful bangle bracelets that were dancing around in my mind, I had to pick up yarn and pony beads and make some very clunky looking practice pieces, until it became comfortable to hold not only the beads, thread and crochet hook, but also to have the dexterity to move the beads into place, which was very awkward at first.)

With a little practice, I'm sure you'll be crocheting expertly away at those graphghans!  Smile

Also, feel free to post photos of your work anytime...not just graphghans, but any other work you've done...we love to drool here!  Wink
