hello everyone my name is talisa and im 24 years old. im slowly introducing myself to graphghans and do have a few questions. i bought graph paper so how do i gauge my blanket. i have read that pne single crochet equals one box. my paper however is 20x20. i would really love to start making my blanket if someone couuld help me out i would truly apperciate it.

Talisa,
Welcome!
You have a very pretty name!
A conventional square graph won't work for regular single crochet, I'm sorry to say. Single crochet stitches are rectangular, not square. So if you're trying to graph a pattern from off the top of your head, you'd need to either get non-square (rectangular) graph paper or change your stitch to a Tunisian stitch that's truly square. (Some Tunisian stitches are square, some aren't.)
If you have a computer image of what you're trying to make into a pattern, why not use our freePatternWizard to create it? If you choose the Stitchboard Basic Palette, it will limit the colors to ones that are closer to actual yarn colors. (The full palette has many more colors than are generally available in yarns.)
Hope that helps!
