Hello there..
March 29, 2014 at 3:21:55 PM
So... I'm new here..
Found this site via Facebook (everything is on Facebook these days..)
So now I am introducing myself..
My Name is Line, i am 24 years old, live in Denmark, with my 2 boys (16 months old, and almost 3 years old), and my fiance, our dog (Siberian Husky) and our cat (Maine Coon).
I study from home wich gives me a lot of time to crochet.. I love making soft toys for the kids, and they have a lot of them now.. Have done a couple of afghans, both for the kids, and myself.
And i am currently in a project, that crochet octopusses for babies born to early.
My next big projekt is a cover for my oldest boys bed. He wants a bed cover with his alltime best friend, the dog.. I don't see how I am ever gonna finish that one.. But everything for the kids, off course he will get his cover..
This was a bit about me.. I look forward to surf around the site, to see if i can get some good ideas..

Line,
Hi, and welcome!
So happy you found us through Facebook!
Wow, Denmark...I wanted to live there...until I found out how cold it is.
It sounds like such a
wonderful
place, though, with such lovely people!
You must have your hands full with that busy household...wow, how do you manage to get all of that crocheting done?
I can barely manage with a husband and one cat!
Please do post pictures of your work...it sounds delightful.
I haven't made a lot of afghans (and the ones I've made are mostly gift baby afghans), but I do enjoy making soft toys.
The octopus toys sound like fun!
What do you study...and how in the world do you have time for a full household, crocheting and studying...pretty amazing!
The bed cover sounds like a neat project...a long project, for sure, but an interesting one.
Welcome again, and I hope we can help you spark many ideas!

So i wrote a lot.. And the thing dissapeared..!
Not very good with the technical things..
So.. how do i find the time? I only study part time, if you can call it that..
I study to become a kindergarden teacher.. And the kids is in daycare during the day.. So i have a lot of free time on my hands..
Of course, i have been on 2 x maternity leave.. And that helps a lot with the free time
With my first born i had to stay at home from when i was only 7 weeks through the pregnancy.. I was so sick, that i ran in and out of hospitals all the time to get fluids.. Couldn't eat, couldn't drink.. Everything came up again.. So.. A lot of time.. Then when the kid was born, i had gallstone attacks.. They almost killed me, so stayed in the hospital for 2.5 monts.. Again.. lot of time... Then i got pregnant with my number 2... Had to stay home from i was 17 weeks through... Couldn't walk because of a pelvic that took me though hell and back...
So again a lot of time i had to kill somehow..
This is some of my stuff..
.oO(Don't hope this post is there 2 times.. if so, then i am sorry.. :p But the first one suddently disapered.. )

Found some oher pictures.. :p
^^This.. ehh.. animal, is the first one that i created with no help from a pattern..
Doesn't look like any animal walking this planet.. But it turned out very cute..
^^A jacket for my youngest.. Here it's not all finished..
^^Here he is wearing it..
This was actually my first piece of clothing..
^^This one is the same as the blueish one.. Just for my 3 year old, who wanted a jacket like his little brothers..
^^This one is also one of my own creations.. It has the same function as a scarf, but since scarfs is not good on small kids, i made this. 100% alpaca..

Line,
Wow, I can't imagine how awful it is to have the cold for so long!
Spring hasn't figured out it should be here where I am (the US), but at least we've been getting a few warmer days here and there! Even your summers look a bit chilly.
I'm so sorry you encountered a technical issue. In theory, the system should warn you before a message just disappears...anyway, I let Terry (Support) know about it, though obviously this particular instance can't be fixed.
How many years do you have to study to be a kindergarten teacher? That must be a very demanding program. I know people who teach here in the US, anywhere from elementary school up to college. It's quite demanding and requires many years of study!
You've made
so
many nice things! The elephants are adorable and the octopuses are as cute as they sound! Love those blues you used in the ripple afghan. The lamb is my
fave
of the toys! Is that your pattern?
The garments are nice, too!
How amazing that on your first try at a garment, you made such a
great
sweater!
(LOL, my first sweater wasn't
half
that nice!) The bottom picture is what we'd call a cowl here. That's pretty ingenious, as you're right, a scarf isn't good for children, who would just pull it off and drop it somewhere, sigh, but a cowl is a wonderful idea! You should think about writing the pattern up and selling it...you could put it in our mall, if you'd like.
Can't say I've seen cowls for children, just adults, and the shaping on this one is lovely!
So happy you shared your fantastic work - thank you so much!

Line,
That is gorgeous work!
I have to agree with Melanie about putting the cowl pattern out there for sale.

Thank you for the kind words..
I have to study for another 4,5 years.. The education itself only takes 3.5 years.. But there's a few subjects that i have to study before i can that the education.. So, one year left of that, and then 3.5 years after before i can call myself a kindergarten teacher..
She sheep is not my own pattern.. I found it
here
, but I changed the yearn.. And the face.. Thought it looked cuter the way I made it..
My version of it, actually "lives" in my favourite yarn shop..
I gave it to the shopkeeper since it reminded me of her sheeps..
The cowl is my own pattern though.. I am not sure how to write a pattern, and there for not sure if I should sell it..

Line,
First of all, I'm very sorry for my delay in responding...our Internet was out for two days due to a thing I'd never heard of, called "signal leakage." We were unceremoniously dumped, and what we discovered is they take it very seriously...but they were trying to call us on the phone to the modem that no longer had a signal! It took more than 48 hours to figure that out.
I hope the time for your education flies by! When I put myself through college, I couldn't
wait
until I was done. I, too, was looking ahead to about 4 1/2 years. I thought it would take forever...but as I checked off the semesters, it seemed to go quicker, and before I knew it, it was done!
I hope you'll feel the same way.
I agree, your version of the lamb is
much
cuter!
It's not difficult to write down a pattern, just takes some time. You just have to write every step as if you were telling someone else how to make it, but instead of saying the words, you write them down (or type them into the computer, whichever is easier). Then you have people test it for you (I would be happy to volunteer, if you'd like, and I'm sure Sherry - BetwixtTheStitch - would, as well
). If it all goes okay, you can offer it for sale or free...doesn't matter which.
It's really a neat idea, beautifully worked, and if you'd want to sell it or offer it for free, it would seem a shame not to have it out there!

Line,
Argh, it was awful having no Internet...you don't realize how much you need something until you don't have it!
Excellent...I'd love to see you writing down the pattern for such a beautiful design!
To change your avatar, go to My Area (in the top menu), then "change active avatar picture." You can then "browse" the files on your computer to find the picture you want.
If you're still having trouble, please let me know! If there's any problem, it can be fixed.
