I love all needlework. I've been making "crochet by number" images from yarn and hook and i love this program.
From Hayward, California.

Thank you. Will do. So far I made a pattern of Bob Marley, and a picture of 4 sheep standing in a small flock. I got the yarn to start on the sheep picture, but I need some yarn for the Bob Marley. (One of my Nieces wants a crocheted picture of Bob Marley).
I'm getting ready to crochet a picture of Marilyn Monroe for my Sister, but I have one question. Where did you get the numbers and names for your colors from your main menu?
Have you ever thought about adding a color palate from Red Heart Yarns, Vanna Choice Yarns, etc. in addition to the Lion Brand Woolese? The Red Heart has a lot more colors.
I was looking at my Chart I made of Marilyn Monroe and looking at my list of Colors Used and I chose the Symbols; Color numbers as well as the Names of the Colors. There's a part of Marilyn Monroe's hair where the hilights are and the symbol in those areas is a single Dot for the symbol, but the List of the colors does not reflect the Dots nor the color white. The lightest color that shows is on the Color Legend is "Beaver Grey-Medium # 407. Where does the name and number for your colors come from?

Cookie,
So glad you've been able to make some nice gifts!
We're planning on adding more palettes at a later date, so there will be more choices.
As for the symbol issue, I've reported the problem to Terry (Support), so he'll get to it as soon as possible.

Where did you guys get the color numbers and names for example;
# 326 Beaver Brown-Ulight drk; # 407 Beaer Grey-Medium,
# 411 Beighe Grey-Dark, # 412 Brown Grey-Medium,
# 415 Beige Grey-Very Dark, # 420 Pewter Grey and
# 430 Pewter grey-Very Dark
Is ther a brand of embroidery thread or yarn that uses these number and names for these colors that I can compare to? It's tough for to decifer which is the lightest to the darkest.

Cookie,
I'm not sure where the names came from, and as far as the colors that aren't found, they've been discontinued, as DMC "cleans house" with colors here and there, bringing out new ones.
According to DMC, the correct names for the colors that still exist and what you've listed are:
326 V DK Rose
407 DK Desert Sand
415 Pearl Gray
420 DK Hazelnut Brown
As for which ones go from light to dark, I haven't seen any definitions beyond color names; DMC doesn't have any kind of list I've ever found defining colors from light to dark. So I don't really know the answer to which colors are lighter and which are darker; you may have to simply eyeball it and pick the ones you think look lighter and darker. Since you do have both brown-gray and silver-gray represented, they may be very close in shading and more a matter of opinion than an exact measurement of light/dark coloring.
Meanwhile, I'll have Terry (Support) remove those colors you mentioned that have been discontinued.
