I'm terribly sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with the Free Pattern Wizard.  I've forwarded your inquiry to Support for a closer look.  Meanwhile, please see if this info helps: when you get to Section #7, under "Output:" do you choose "Pattern in PDF Format"?  (The default is "Pattern on Screen," which will only give you patterns in colors.  Also, you must be logged in when you create your patterns to get the PDF option.)

Once you've chosen "Pattern in PDF Format," the "Grid" setting will move to the right and in its previous place will appear "Pdf:" where you have a choice of, "Colors Only," "Symbols Only" or "Both Colors and Symbols."

Emails: if you're trying to email privately to someone here on Stitchboard, that part of our program has recently changed.  Originally, we had two mailboxes, so the entire program has been redone and now the one mailbox is available, while the other will be imported into the current email area in the very near future.

Maggie,

Thanks again for your question.  I think you're talking about two previous posts you made in the Community asking about getting pdfs with colors and symbols.  For your information, here's a link to that discussion.  I had previously answered your questions, asked you a couple questions, and showed you what you should see on the screen.  You can see that at the following link:

My second reply took a couple days since I was moving everything over to the new Community.

Regarding your mention of "sent" emails, it sounds like you were looking in your mail area.  This is a separate area and does not show messages you post in the Community. 

Your original posts were made in the Community under Free Pattern Wizard - Questions and Answers - pdf Charts with Symbols area.
