My wonderful brother brought over the wire set up for grounding my machine last night.  Works like a champ.  He cautioned me STRONGLY about making sure it was plugged in to the wall outlet properly.  You have to use that little hole at the bottom.  If you try plugging it into either of the two rectangular holes it would cause a serious electric shock if not a lethal one.

Bless him, I went to work with the carriage and no matter how fast I moved the carriage there were no problems at all.

Today, I'm knitting hats.  I haven't been able to use that machine since the cold made the air so dry here.  It was a continual struggle to beat the static problems causing the machine to seize up.  I'm so excited to be able to get back to my hats.

I still have a baby sweater taking shape on the LK150 as well and the shawl on the two sticks is within a couple of feet of being finished.

Anyone out there doing any machine knitting?

I'm not doing any machine knitting at the moment...but am so happy to hear your brother grounded the machine and eliminated the static problem.  YAY!  Smiley

BTW, I received the replacement yarn for the non-matching "no dye lot" stuff (teddy bear sweater) today.  Three skeins, instead of the two I was expecting!  Teddy bear is doing a happy dance.  Now I've decided to use some previously flooded needles.  I had hesitated, because it seems kind of wrong, but decided washing them very well in soap and water should suffice.  LOL, it's not like I'm going to eat them, but I generally hate the idea of making something with previously flooded needles that will touch skin, so hopefully soap and water will make them clean enough to use for everything, including non-teddy bear wear.  Otherwise, I'm missing many sizes of needles and would have to repurchase them all.

Old fashioned soap and water sure sounds good to me!  Smiley

Soap and water should work just fine.  If you "feel queazy" about it, why not just get some of that hand sanitizer and use it?

Hand sanitizer...thanks!  Smiley  I never thought of that!

Unfortunately, some will still have to be trashed...ugh, there's some rust on a few of the items.  Sad  I do know about Naval Jelly (LOL, the local hardware store clerks had never heard of it!), but don't want to get that fussy...I'd much rather replace them, in that case.

LOL, admitting that I have no clue what Naval Jelly is.  Do please enlighten me especially if it's something that might come in handy.

Naval Jelly removes rust.  It's been around for ages!  Oddly, not every hardware store stocks it, which is a shame.

It sure is!  Smiley  Naval Jelly is made by Loctite...you've probably heard of this company before, as they make many other products.  If you have one of the bigger hardware stores located near you, they probably stock it.  If you don't, Amazon has a number of affiliates who sell it.  I was lucky enough to purchase it locally, but the smaller hardware store chain near me didn't have it (or know what it was), so I had to go to a big national chain store.
