About machines and static

I live an a high humidity area.  For nearly the past ten years the problem with static and knitting machines wasn't an issue.  For some reason, this winter, we're *way staticky*.  I've been using dryer sheets across the bed to handle it, a new humidifier (woefully inadequate, need to get another one), and other tips and tricks as I find them on the internet.  On person uses a thread from a copper kitchen scratch pad, unscrews a screw on the knitting bed, loops the copper wire round the screw, tightens it and unravels the scratch pad enough to afix the rest of the pad to the leg of that table.  if you'd like the directions for that I'll hunt the link down and post it.

This past weekend I had a conversation with my brother who is an electrician by trade.  He's going to make me some sort of grounding wire for my machine.  He travels a lot so I'll have to be patient.  When he does this for me I'll take pictures.  Hopefully, it will be useful for everyone.
