Question
August 26, 2016 at 10:26:19 PM
Hi,
I am a beginner crocheter and I am new to Switchboard. Can anyone explain to me how I go about a graphagan? I have a picture of what I want it to look like, but is there a certain software that I need or any suggestions that might help me.
Thank you,
3lilbeairs

Welcome!
Since you're a beginner, my suggestion is to start with something very small and simple. Probably the biggest mistake beginners make when trying anything new (myself included
) is to start with something too large and complex. I did this with bead crochet. While I'm in no way a beginning crocheter, I couldn't handle the beads in addition to thread and crochet hook, and it wasn't until I stepped back and used large pony beads and regular yarn that it fell into place. So this is why I say to start smaller, and as for simple, you don't want to lose detail in your design.
Once you feel ready to tackle a full graphghan, once you choose the image you'd like to use, go to the top menu here and choose patterns/create a pattern. From there you can follow the prompts to upload your image, set the various options and create your pattern.

I'm a beading, knitting and crochet addict. If that means I'm admitting I have a problem, then I admit to nothing. Please refrain from helping me.
