New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
New! We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn! If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you. This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic! (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)
New! The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!
Welcome to Stitchboard! Feel free to sit and stay awhile. Check out our new Premier features. In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request! We have many more features planned, too!

Hi. I am trying to upload a pic for a graphgan of a white tiger worked with Tunisian crochet. However am having problems with the stitch wizard program as it will not upload my pic that is under 5mb. Any help provided will be greatly appreciated.
Candi,
Have a lovely weekend!
You should be able to follow the grid exactly the same as usual, by reading it left to right/odd, right to left/even; it's the word chart that, when working properly, will automatically read out the patterns left to right/odd, right to left/even, so you don't have to read some of them backwards.
Sarasue,
Welcome!
The Kindle books to which the posts pertained were Amazon freebies that were offered at the time, which I used to update on a (more or less) daily basis. Amazon has since changed the way the listings are handled and I'm unable to list the titles as I once did. The listings now take forever to load in my browser. I had tried to keep the listings going as long as possible, but now can't list them until I either get a faster computer or Amazon changes book listings back to the way they were.
If you're looking for crochet patterns on Amazon, you might try a search of "crochet" (minus the quotes) and if you change the pricing to "low to high" from the dropdown menu, you should see a lot of matches. For the most part, the books with a dual-colored cover page (a beige-colored upper portion of the book, with the middle and bottom in yellow, red, blue, green, etc) representation are the much older ones (although not always). With those books, it pays to look at the star ratings, because if they're rated too low it usually means they're lacking illustrations. Many are very poorly rated (and the descriptions talk about the books having been converted to digital format).
A great option for older books like that is the Antique Pattern Library, which is available at:
http://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org/
The Antique Pattern Library (which offers PDFs for free, BTW) has many older books in PDF format, and many of those are the same ones offered on Amazon. The ones from the Antique Pattern Library often do provide those important illustrations, which Amazon generally doesn't, making the Amazon versions hard to follow.
I'm hoping to someday return to the listings; however, for now, it's not feasible.

LabMom,
Welcome! Great name!
I'm
sorry to say we lack the ability to track what happens with
patterns once they're created. As we don't require exclusivity,
people are free to make their patterns and sell them wherever they
want, even if it isn't Stitchboard. For our site in particular, we
strongly believe we don't have the right to tell people they must
keep their own work exclusive to our site.
It may also be that the Stitchboard FreePatternWizard
was used to create the pattern, rather than that being a location
for where the pattern is being sold.
My best
advice is if you can locate the designer, you may want to try
contacting him or her and ask where the pattern may be purchased.
Thank you so much
