Where in Kentucky did you live? I love it there and wish could I go and live there permanently.

I lived in a small town in Hardin county, about 15 miles from Elizabethtown. Two of my sisters live near Radcliff, which calls itself "the gateway to Ft. Knox". Yep, I could have lived there permanently, too. Right now, I'm about half-way between Louisville and Indianapolis. I watch the TV stations from Louisville so I can still kinda keep up with what's going on down there.

Hi, my name is Carol and I live in the VA suburbs of Washington, DC. My focus for the last 7 years has been on beadweaving, but I've always been a thread/yarn crafter in some manner or another. Lately I've been addicted to needle tatting and been working on a bracelet design. My skills are pretty basic yet, but I'm having alot of fun with it. I tatted a scarf out of sock yarn that I think looks pretty cool. I get alot of inspiration from members of a fiber arts co-op gallery to which I belong, http://potomaccraftsmengallery.com and I'm a member of the Etsy Beadweavers, http://etsy-beadweavers.blogspot.com . Feel free to friend me here, and if you're on Facebook, I have a beading fan page: http://facebook.com/ambrosianbeads . Oh, and I notice there are alot of kitty lovers here...well, add another one...I have two !
Happy stitching !
Carol

Carol,
Welcome!
I took a look at your Web page...wow, such great work! (I have the same problem with the herringbone necklace you mentioned. I've only done part of it, but it's already looking much too tight to curve correctly, and I was looking at it, thinking, "This isn't going to work!" Did you ever resolve that issue?)
Needle tatting is something I've always wanted to try. That's an interesting idea to use sock yarn for it...I've only seen needle tatting done with thread. It
does
sound cool, and quite original, too! Have you got any pictures?
Glad to have another cat lover on board!
(Interesting how cats and beading often seem to go hand in hand. Most of my beading friends are cat lovers.)
Melanie (known to the cat as "Rowr" or "Rowr Rowr") =^.^=

I'm a beading, knitting and crochet addict. If that means I'm admitting I have a problem, then I admit to nothing. Please refrain from helping me.
