Image being stretched?

When I've imported an image which is 200 x 400 pixels and created a single crochet graph with the width being 200 stitches the software is increasing the length to 534 rows instead of 400 rows - does anyone know why this might be happening?

I'm also assuming the software is calculating a standard single crochet stitch to be equal in width and length so was expecting 200 stitches wide and 400 rows from a 200 x 400 pixel image but maybe this is not the case?

Hi. The vertical count is actually calculated based on the stitch dimensions so the final stitched item will remain proportional.

This relates to the stitch shapes available in the current version of the freePatternWizard, which are either horizontal or vertical.

The next update of the program includes a new square stitch shape in crochet.  I hope to finish testing the new crochet word chart in a couple days and when I enable it, the new square stitch will also be available.
