I joined stitchboard in March, and have only just found this board (duh me). I am an avid crocheter and at present I'm dabbling in graph crochet which I am loving. I learnt to crochet when I was 15 and knit when I was 7 (eons ago) and have been hooked on both ever since, however these days I tend to lean toward crochet more. I have always been into craft of some sort, whether it be digital scrap booking or making crystal suncatchers and I nearly always have at least 3 or 4 crochet projects on the go at once.

Would love to meet other crocheters who get as much enjoyment out of it as I do.

LOL, aren't crocheting and knitting addictive?! Well, crafting in general, too!

I hope you have a really nice yarn stash!

First let me say, I am SOOOOOO happy to have found this site..I'm already addicted to it. I love how the admin members are so friendly and approachable, it is very welcoming and refreshing.

I have just started my second graph crochet project, completing the first colour change row yesterday..only another 150 rows to go..LOL... I'm also slowly adding pics of other completed crochet projects.

Would love to share the pictures of my crystal suncatchers...I wasn't sure I was allowed to post them on here as they don't fall into the craft criterea of this site (although I do use beads in them), so I made need some guidance as to where I put them.

Once again thanks for the welcome. I look forward to making lots of new craft friends.

It's such a delight to see you here!

How long did it take you to crochet your first chart? Is this new one about the same size and do you think it will take you about the same amount of time to make it, or is it more complex?

Share pics of anything crafty at all!

It doesn't have to be stitching related...as long as it's crafting related, it's fine! We just love to talk crafts and drool!

It's our greatest goal for people here to make many, many crafting friends!

Melanie, the first graph of my Mum took a little over 2 weeks, it helped that I had the house to myself for 2 or 3 days with no interuptions. The next one is going to be a little bigger, 120 sts, but I'm using a 3.5mm hook this time, so I'm guessing size wise there won't be a lot if difference. I think the complexity is roughly the same, although on this one it will be a full face on view of my Dad.

I also worried about posting other stuff when I first joined, but if you've been reading the boards, we just kind of go wherever it flows.

Wow, a little over 2 weeks is amazing for crocheting that entire chart, even with the quiet 2 or 3 days!

I hope you can get a whole bunch of quiet time for the one of your Dad, too! Did you ultimately find the kind of picture of him that you wanted for that?

I haven't been able to find an adult photo yet, well not one that graphs well. Most of them he is too far away from the camera. I think I'm going to have to dig deeper and spend a day going through the 100s of photos we have in the hope of finding one. Photography was his hobby, so he was never one to be in front of the lens.

Argh, I'm sorry you haven't been able to find a suitable adult photo of your Dad for graphing.

I hope there is one like you're looking for, and that you'll be able to locate it fairly quickly! It's especially difficult with someone with a photography hobby...usually, in the quest to take a photo, the photographer rarely thinks to pose for one!
