Hi, Line.
Sorry you're having problems uploading an avatar. Could you please let me know the image format (.jpg, .gif...) you're trying to upload and the approximate file size? Thanks.

Our kitty hates it, sigh.

No need for baths..
When she is dry the sand will simply fall off, and then she will be as clean as before she went running in the woods..
She likes baths though.. She is a show dog, so she is used to baths by now

I have actually just retired her in january last year..
She's only 5. But since she is both Danish Champion, and Bronze Champion, and she is not having puppies, Then i don't want to use a LOT of money bringing home more titels.. So now she enjoys life in our yard, and then we run her once in a while.
And i did not have ANY competetion. :/ Some people thinks that it is cool knowing that you are going to win.. But not for me.. It wasn't fun anymore.. She have only lost in the show ring twice in the 3 years i showed her. Once because the judge disqualified her for her nose, which is not a disqualifying fault (she has what's called a snow nose). And the second time she lost, she looked like a sick dog because she was shedding so heavily, there was nothing i could do.

Line,
So is she getting spoiled with all of the attention and being home, then?
I can understand why you wouldn't want to show her, knowing you were going to win...there would be no point in it! Why did the judge think a snow nose was a disqualifying fault? Looks like an adorable nose to me!
Well, I think as long as she's loved and cherished, that's the most important thing...and it sounds like she is!

Oh yes.. Lots of attention for her.. The kids LOVE her.. Especially my 3 year old..
They have been best friends sincethe day i brought him home from the hospital..
He disqualified her because he didn't like her nose. He doesn't think that a snow nose should be allowed, only fully pigmented noses.. :/

Line,
Awww, love the pic!
She looks so relaxed and happy.
I know nothing about dog shows or dog nose pigmentation, but that sounds like the dumbest reason for disqualification that I've ever heard!

Melanie - Well..
Some of the dog breeds must have a fully pigmentet nose.. In the huskys "standard" it says that the snow nose is not a fault.
A lot of huskies has a snow nose.. Nearly the whole bloodline that mine comes from has a snow nose.. -.-'
I found out later that the judge did just not like the huskies. He wanted to judge the Bull Terriers.. But he couldn't.. So NONE of the huskies that day got a nice critique..
