Hi, I posted pictures of my nephew's sweater and better pictures of the purple shrug. both made on the 260.

Truer is the word. I have a sweater on the needles for my Papa now. Also have a project for a yellow shrug brewing in the back of my mind. The pot in the back of my mind is chock full of things it thinks I should do. Shocked

Now that I have the Knitware program activated, I'm going to try some things I haven't before. Patterns are hard to find when you have something in mind already. You spend days and weeks looking for what you have in your mental picture book and never find it. This program will allow me to take parts and pieces of concepts and help me put them together. At least that's the plan. Grin

I hope the program will allow you to realize all of your dreams!

I know what you mean about looking for something you already have in mind...sigh, that's the story of my life! I'm always envisioning certain things, and then when I look, can never find them. Sad

Marilyn the best part is finding that I'm actually designing things. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be making things up like this. Nothing original really, just playing around. The sweater, for instance, was a plain stockinette pattern, the imp of inspiration hit and that's what happened.

I'm completely jealous...talented people like you always say "I was just playing around" when you turn out sheer artistry! LOL, if that's playing around, I want to see what happens when you get serious!

I have no doubt that you'd be equal or outstrip me easily if you had the time to devote to it. I have the time it takes to do since I don't have to have an out of the house job at this time. That might change one day, but for the nonce, I can fiddle and learn and Rome won't burn down this time. Wink

This is probably how all designs get started. A person says "hmm, I wonder how it would look if I try this...". He or she tries it, likes it, and a new design is born.

Sounds very reasonable. Much to my father's chagrin, I cook the same way I knit. Needless to say, there are failures in both arenas. A failed hat can be repurposed, a failed dinner? Papa made a rule when we first began to cook, if we made it, he ate it. I think that's been difficult sometimes, poor man. Grin

LOL, sorry, couldn't resist!

Hee hee, based on some of our own experiments in cooking, I hope your dad has a cast-iron stomach...luckily, most of the things we've made have turned out, but not all...

LOL, I once made chocolate chocolate chip cookies where the chocolate chips melted INTO the cookies, so there technically weren't any chips by the time they were finished. I was very upset, until my dear friend pointed out her son, who was wolfing down the cookies. She said, "He doesn't know the difference!"

Gotta love it when you mess up...and nobody realizes it!

Hmm...do you think I should have knitted hats for the cookies? Grin

As long as you use only jam and not pbj you're fine. Peanut butter and hat just doesn't chew very well. Jam on the other hand is much easier to swallow.

Charlene,

I agree with your assessment. The problem is, peanut butter is inherently dry. Jelly is moist. Fiber is dry. Dry with dry is a no-no. That way, you are asking for trouble. And I believe the Geneva Convention forbids mixing dry, particularly when it comes to wool for consumption. It is undoubtedly cruel. Let us at least be humane when gastronomically inflicting our failed fiber projects on our loved ones.
