I want to set the number of rows for my knitting graph
September 30, 2023 at 2:16:55 AM

I have set the desired number of stitches at 73, the graph produces that, but the graph is showing 170plus rows, whereas I need only 92 rows.  I would appreciate some help in achieving the desired number of rows.

Dskea,
Welcome! Smile
The freePatternWizard was originally set up to keep people from skewing their patterns, which is the reason for the lack of a choice of the number of rows when creating patterns. It takes the number of stitches across and creates a suitable length pattern to best fit with your uploaded image and chosen size.
We do have a version where one can enter the number of rows you want in addition to stitches; however, please keep in mind that it will likely change the aspect ratio, so something might look "off" because it's stretched or narrowed.
If you're interested, we could make this option available to you.
If not, there are other ways to keep within the correct aspect ratio, by adding borders to fool the freePatternWizard into creating the correct number of rows. This unfortunately does require experimenting to get the correct size; I've done this and it's not an exact science.
If you'd prefer to add borders and you're on a Windows PC but you don't have a graphics program, there are two I can suggest that are free, have been around for ages and are quite powerful. (The only thing is, I can't tell you how to use them, as I'm personally using - seriously - a program that was released in 1998, lol.)
