Trying to upload PDF word doc to cross stitch pattern
April 19, 2022 at 11:01:19 AM

Hello, this is my first time using this site, and I'm trying to upload a PDF document with words to convert it to a cross stitching pattern.  It's not letting me do that.  Is there a way to do it?
TIA

Hi, I'm new here as well and I would love to get acquainted!

As to your query, I don't think the Pattern Wizard can convert PDFs into patterns yet. I quoted this from it directly 'Stitchboard Members can upload .gif, .jpg, .png, .bmp, .tif, .psd, .svg, .pcx, or .wbmp images and have a 5Mb image file size limit.' Beware of the size limit as I uploaded a larger image and it did not work either.

As for a solution what you can do is convert your pdf into a jpg or png for example and then upload the file in that format. There are many websites where you can do this such as this one: https://smallpdf.com/pdf-to-jpg

Hope this helps! Have a good day/night! :-)

Britney,
Welcome! Smile
Queenphalange is correct about file size. Kiss There are also other issues with PDF files.
Is your PDF document an image or is it a document with words (text)? If it's text, this isn't an image, so it can't be converted into a pattern.
Also, if it IS an image, if your image isn't on the first page, that may be the problem.
Those are just a few ideas, but more info is needed to pinpoint the issue.
What kind of error message are you getting?
Please post with more info so we can figure out what's going on.
