Hi
Thank you for your amazing cross stitch pattern maker. I have made my pattern using DMC threads. The pattern maker has listed the colours I need but how many skeins of each colour do I need? Is it one of each colour listed? There is a lot of white in my pattern so surely I would need more of that?
Is there an approximate number of stitches per skein so I can work it out according to the stitch count for each colour?

We're so glad you like the freePatternWizard!

Figuring the number of skeins will be different depending on how many strands you're using and what size cloth. The number of skeins could be quite different if you're using 3 strands on 11 count Aida as opposed to 1 strand on 24 count congress cloth.

I don't have a perfect answer for you, but if you want to figure out an approximation for each color (since you do get the data showing the number of stitches in each color), here's the best link I've found for figuring the numbers:
