Photo into cross-stitch pattern
August 10, 2016 at 12:30:57 PM

Hi, my name is Ann. I am 48 yrs old and enjoy cross-stitch. For years I've been trying to figure out how to make a photo into a cross-stitch pattern. I'm not very good at photo changing (?) and I do not own a PC. I do have an android tablet & would like to know if it's possible to do it on that. I know that I should be reading other posts on this, but I'm having difficulty staying focused. My best friend, of 12 years, Brandy, was euthanized on Monday, August 8, 2016. Brandy is/was a Rottweiler & is
extremely special to me. I have a great photo of her when she was in her prime that I would like to make into a cross-stitch pattern. If anyone knows how to do this in the easiest way possible I would be very grateful. Thanks for your time.

Ann,

Welcome!  Smile

I'm so sorry for your loss...furchildren are so precious.  Cry

The good news is that you can use the freePatternWizard with an Android tablet.  The conversion work is actually done on our server, so you don't have to install anything on your tablet to make your pattern.

There are some special effects available (e.g., brightness, contrast adjustments, etc), though for now image manipulation like cropping should be done beforehand (these are features that are currently in development and are not yet available).  I'm unfamiliar with apps that are available for this purpose, but I'm sure there are some good options, so if you do a search and read the reviews, that should help you to find an app that can be used if you need to manipulate your image.  Smile
