Neave,
I'm so glad Nicky helps you!
Otherwise, I'd be worried that you'd have to do all of that work alone.
Ooh, a chateau in southern France...
gorgeous
!
I can't sew, either.
The only way I'm making a dress is if I can use knitting needles or crochet hooks!
Does Char sew? If so, I'm envious, really! I wish I could sew.
Bridal stores can have some really nice selections, and when I used to go to some of them, they had many incredible dresses at a fraction of the cost, particularly when there was a sale of "certain gowns priced at $100." One of my friends found a dress at one of the $100 sales (I don't know if she wore that particular one on her wedding day, as we weren't in touch at that time) at a bridal shop. She was thrilled. She brought it to a woman who used to sew all of our clothes (the woman was putting away all of the money she earned for her daughter's education
)...the woman confided in me that she felt the wedding gown wasn't really a great quality thing. But she added some really nice beads, sequins, etc, to it, and it was gorgeous!
And I doubt she had to pay much for the extras, so for her, the gown cost maybe $120 or so altogether.
Thanks!
I'll ask my husband about 6/21...sigh, like I said, he's so picky, he hasn't liked a single date I've suggested so far.

Neave,
Hahahahaha!
He
is
a picky assed thing!
I'm definitely jealous...wish I could sew like Char does...I do love crocheting and knitting, but they take such a darned long time for the tiniest things.
It would be nice to sew a few seams and be done with it, especially when it's something like a pillow!
Southern France or Italian chateau would do it for me, too - you have excellent taste!

Neave,
I'm in good company, then.
Because I practically have to take a chill pill to sew something!

Argh, I know that feeling, and I'm so sorry you're going through it right now!
I'm here if you want to talk.
