Pixel colors are changing once the graph is created...

I have an image of a red car that I want to turn into a graphghan using Stitchboard.  I have previously done this pattern using Stitchfiddle, but I think the finished graph looks better in Stitchboard.  However, SB is changing some of the colors.  You can see some yellow squares in the white area, and along the black lines.  Is there anyway to exit pixel colors while in edit mode?  Is there even an edit mode??  Many thanks for any help!

Dogwithyarn,
Apologies for the delay; the computer was having issues.
I've alerted Terry (Support) about this issue. I can see where the yellow squares would be very confusing! Offhand, it might be something in your original image, which you can see if you import it into a graphics program and enlarge it quite a bit.
I hope Terry has some more insight for you.

Dogwithyarn,

The edit mode is a long-awaited addition that's coming when I finish moving Stitchboard over to our new servers.  We have moved 28 of our websites over so far and Stitchboard is one of the remaining 2.  I apologize for the delay but we need to add a whole new Circles and Member Blog area.  The new PatternWizard editing is complete but it's not live yet.

Anyway, in the meantime, might I suggest trying telling the program you want 3 colors in section 5c.  It should select white, black and red.  It should convert the yellow to white or possibly black.  Adjusting brightness and/or contrast might then help.

One other setting to try is to turn on anti-aliasing in section 8.

The yellow you're seeing is what's called image artifacts and is generally caused by reducing or enlarging an image (often a .jpg).  If you start with a 3-color .gif image the program should not give you this problem.

Let us know if any of these help.

Also, if you want to send me your original image, I could convert it into a 3-color .gif that would work.  If you're interested, let me know and I'll give you an email address to which you can send it.  (Posting the image here in the Community would not work since the system adjusts image sizes and it would not be a clean picture).

Terry
