Colours of yarn/wool
July 14, 2020 at 1:30:03 PM

I wonder if someone could help.  I live in the uk and have never used a site like this before.  Someone kindly downloaded a photograph of myself and my sister so I could crochet a blanket.  They have sent me the pattern which gives me the colours I need but I'm not sure what brand they are.  I assuming it could be an american brand so I may have to find an equivalent.

The colours on the chart are

2 - Black

326 - Beaver Brown - Ulight dark

412 - Brown grey - medium

415 - Beige grey - very dark

420 - Pewter grey

422 - Beaver grey - dark

429 - Ash grey - very light

430 - Pewter grey - very dark.

Could someone tell which brand these are please.

regards

Sarah

Sarah,
Welcome! Smile
What happened was that whoever made your pattern used the Stitchboard Full Palette. We don't recommend using this particular palette for crochet. This is why we made the Stitchboard Basic Palette. The Stitchboard Full Palette consists of too many colors that will often be impossible to find in yarns, and more specifically, in the same brand/thickness/type of fiber, which would be important for a blanket to be consistent throughout.
If it's at all possible, would you be able to re-run (or have the same person) re-run the image through the freePatternWizard, instead choosing the Stitchboard Basic Palette? (Or at least one of the yarn choices we have available.)
It won't look as nice as the pattern using the Full Palette, but it will also be much easier to get those colors in yarn. Smile
