Changing colors for a Word Chart
June 23, 2018 at 8:02:56 PM
First off, let me say I just found this site the other night. When I asked someone if they could create a Word Chart (Crocheting) from a picture and at this time they could not, I googled and found this site. Awesome!
I was afraid of being booted off I uploaded the pictures so many times.
My question is, I want to keep this picture of our two Westies sitting on a dock simple, so I selected my own colors. I will use "I Love This Yarn" for the graphghan. It is for my husband, for Christmas. The one thing I found (and I have done it over so many times) is that it WILL NOT use white for my Westies. Is there a way to tell it to use white? Would this be in the Premier edition?
What I finally did was choose 7 colors, then I changed what colors I thought it should be. For some reason it made an area of our dog Medium yellow, so now all medium yellow will be Off white. Also, anything light gray will be off white. Medium Gray will be White. For some reason it thinks my dogs are gray. Ha!
I am excited to do this Word Chart. You see, our last Westie we had to put down in May. I wanted to do something for my hubby and surprise him. Trust me, he won't have a clue what I'm doing in my craft room.
I was trying to keep it from having too many balls of yarn attached to one row, but it seems it is up to 49 in row 1.
Suggestions for choosing correct colors for a simple photo?
Thank you!

Nancy,
Welcome!
So glad you found us...and what a lovely memento this will be for your husband.
Losing a furbaby is SO painful and it helps very much to have ways of remembering them.
Regarding the white, I know there's been an issue, so I'll alert Terry (Support) to your message.
I do hope you'll post photos of your work...not just once you're working on this particular project, but also anything you've made that you'd like to share...we love to drool!

Hi,
I'm just doing some final testing. If you want, I can give you access to a new version to test. This has several color issues fixed. Let me know if you want to test it as I'm also turining on the test version for someone else in the next day or so.
