Hey there! Hi THERE!! HO THERE!!!

Do all the filet patterns I create using stitchboard have to be a filled block of "1 DC,ch 2, sk 2, 1 DC"? I prefer the "1 DC, ch 1, sk 1, 1 DC"

Also, I see patterns made on this site on Pinterest all the time. How do I create something like that? (I'm addicted!)

By the way, this is a BLAST!

Thank you,
Leigh

Leigh,
Welcome! Smile
Thank you for your kind words about our site...so glad you're having fun with it! Kiss
As for how you prefer to make your filet blocks, go for it! Actually, that's pretty ingenius, and I might try it myself sometime, if you don't mind. It sounds like it would be an interesting variation to filet, and take much less time! Are you able to make the stitches square that way? Conventionally, the double chains/spaces are to equal the approximate width of the dc's height, but for that matter, it may be plenty with the single ch. Lol, never really thought about that before!
Also how does that work with 3 dcs forming a whole solid block, rather than 4 (assuming we're counting each side of the stitch as part of that stitch)? Ooh, how exciting! Kiss

I think the 3 st block looks better. Not quite so "bulky". Too bad there's no way to add a picture to this post, or I would show you.
Thank you for your time. I will try a pattern from here with the 3 st block.

Leigh,
It sounds like it would be a much more interesting look! Kiss
Are you posting from a mobile device? We don't have the editing tools available there, but if you can post from a computer, there are editing tools, and the one for posting a pic from your computer is in the top row of tools, toward the right - the tree. That gives a prompt to "browse" for an image on your computer.
At some point, we expect to have mobile editing functions, but I'm sorry to say we don't have an estimate of when that will happen.
Anyway, if you're on a computer, I'd LOVE to see how it looks! Kiss
