Thank you for allowing me to join this group. I have crochet going on 30 yrs. but taught myself how to knit. Im going to be a first time grandma in a few months and was looking for a alphabet baby blanket pattern to knit. couldnt fint one. wanted to just do knit stitch the purl stitch, so the letters would look embossed. but I have had no luck finding anything out there. So I figured I would try to make my own pattern. so here I am. Thank you again.

Welcome!
Congratulations, grandma-to-be!
At the moment we don't have plain stitch patterns as you're talking about...the freePatternWizard is currently only set up to work with colors for knitting. You may be able to do what you need by making a chart in only black and white, remembering that each type of stitch is represented by a different color. In that case, my other suggestion would be to create your image in a very clear font. (At this time the freePatternWizard also doesn't have font capabilities.) If your font isn't clear enough, the lettering may become very distorted, though I imagine the letters you are thinking of creating would be large and not easily distorted.
In the future, we'll have more capabilities for the software, but at this time, this is what it can currently do.

I'm a beading, knitting and crochet addict. If that means I'm admitting I have a problem, then I admit to nothing. Please refrain from helping me.
